Yasuo Kazuki Museum of Art

The museum was established to pass on to future generations the achievements of Yasuo Kazuki, known for his "Siberian Series.

The museum houses and exhibits drawings, toys, and other works that were carefully preserved by the Kazuki family after his death. The museum has restored his studio as it was when he was alive, and the special exhibitions held three times a year allow visitors to meet a different Kazuki than the one in the Sibelija series.

Yasuo Kazuki (1911-1974)

Yasuo Kazuki

He left a great mark on the world of modern Japanese Western-style painting.
His experience of internment in Siberia after the war’s defeat led him to create the “Siberian Series,” which later became his best-known work.
In his later years, he also created objects by reusing scrap wood from his surroundings.
Until his death at the age of 62, he never left his hometown and continued to pursue his passion for creative activities.
