Festival held at the Fukagawa District and Minato Fisheries Cooperative Market!

The Fukagawa Myoken Minato Festival [Minato Ma] was held on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Marche by local restaurants and a "car boot-style" flea market were held. In addition to a hands-on corner for children and a parade of fishing boats with big fishing flags, there was a "women's butt sumo tournament," a "children's vigorous sumo Minato place," and a "rice cake making" event that the people of Yamaguchi Prefecture were enthusiastic about.

Event

The 3rd Children's Genki Sumo and the 6th Women's Shiri Sumo "Nagato Sumo Minato Place" were held. The venue was filled with excitement and enthusiasm with serious competition and cheering.

Many restaurants lined the outdoor area, with lines forming at each store.

At Nagato City's first "car boot-style" flea market, a large number of vehicles lined up for sale in the spacious fishing cooperative's market. Visitors enjoyed looking for bargains unique to flea markets. The market was very crowded with families.

There was also a mini fire truck ride by the Nagato Fire Department and a game corner for children to enjoy.

At the "Furniture Ma," which focused on SDGs and recycling, furniture such as desks, chairs, bookshelves, racks, colored boxes, sofas, and tables, which are difficult to sell at flea markets, were sold and attracted visitors' attention.

In the Fishing Boat Parade, fishing boats carrying the Mikoshi (portable shrines) with their big fishing flags flying in the air parade to wish for safety at sea and a bountiful catch. The big fishing flags catch the wind and flutter in the sky.

The "Mochimaki (rice cake pounding)," an event that the people of Yamaguchi Prefecture are enthusiastic about, was held twice, at 12:00 and 15:00, and the venue was filled with excitement.

The audience was very excited about the event with lots of fun.
