West Japan Yakitori Festival 2024″ is underway! (9/14,15)

Local yakitori from all over Japan gather at Nagato!

The "Western Japan Yakitori Festival 2024" is being held today (Saturday, September 14) and Sunday, September 15, at the Minato Fish Market in the Higashi-Fukagawa district. This gourmet festival brings together famous yakitori restaurants from all over western Japan to present their special menus in Nagato City, the "sacred land of yakitori. This event attracts visitors not only from within the city and prefecture, but also from outside the prefecture.

Venue

Today, the first day of the event, many people visited the venue from the morning.

The opening ceremony was held and the event finally started at 10:00! A line has already formed even before the start of the event.

This event is usually held from the end of August to the beginning of September, but this year it was held a little later.

A food court is set up in the market facility, where visitors can eat their purchases.

Non-Yakitori Events

In addition to yakitori restaurants from all over western Japan, there are also stalls set up by local restaurants and organizations at the venue.

In addition, a booth of the Senzaki Coast Guard Department was set up in a corner of the fishing port, where the patrol boat "Haginami" was open to the public.

In addition, there were live performances by artists from the prefecture on stage, as well as a rock-paper-scissors-scissors tournament.
