The 2024 “Kawayuka Opening” was held at Nagato Yumoto Onsen (3/18)

Pray for the safety of this year's kawadoko & unveil spring fun!

Today (Monday, March 18, 2024), Nagato Yumoto Onsen held a "Kawayuka (river bed) opening. Kawayuka are located along the Otosoregawa River and other areas in the hot spring resort area, where visitors can enjoy strolling around the hot spring resort under the concept of "Osoto Tengoku (Paradise in Osoto). The "kawadoko opening" was held at the kawadoko in front of the Onyu hot spring bathhouse, where Iwata, the chief priest of Daneiji Temple, and others involved in the hot spring resort prayed for safety during the season.

In addition to the safety prayer, a menu of experiences that can be enjoyed this spring at Nagato Yumoto Onsen was also introduced.

You can enjoy your lunch time at a special seat overlooking the clear waters of the Shinshin River and the cherry blossoms of Nagatacho Yumoto (limited to one couple per day).

Nagato Yumoto Onsen Machi Corporation "Afternoon Tea on the Cherry Blossom Bridge

This event is held at Ichinose Bridge, a cherry blossom viewing spot in Onsen town. Visitors can enjoy spring-only sweets and tea from the hot spring resort area while viewing the cherry blossoms at tables set up on the bridge.

Tent Sauna Accommodation Plan" by Jade Senkaku

You can enjoy the tent sauna by the river right outside the Jade Fairy Pavilion. To replenish water, "Nagachi-chi Yuzukichi Squash" will be served, and for "Sa-meshi (meal after sauna)", "Sa-meshi Kaiseki" will be served with special medicinal porridge favored by Yang Kwei-Hui and Naganju chicken steak, a specialty of Naganju.

Kai Nagato "Spring Kawayuka Ohanami Nodate" / "Yozakura Kawayuka Hanami" (Cherry Blossom Viewing at Night on the River)

You can enjoy Hanami and Nodate at the riverside terrace on the Onshin River in front of "Kai Nagato". On this day, only hanami nodate was offered.

(You can choose from a selection of dishes made by local Hagiyaki artists.
