The Nagato City Tourism & Convention Association is currently recruiting new staff (one secretariat staff).

Business Description and Attraction

At the site of "Yakitori JAPAN Festival 2023 in Nagato" (August 2023)

You will be mainly involved in "information dissemination" including the operation of the Nagato City tourist website "Nanavi" (commissioned by Nagato City), which you are currently viewing, as well as various other tasks related to the promotion of tourism in Nagato City.

The purpose of the job is simply to make more people aware of the charms of Nagato.

Increase site traffic and social networking followers/reactions We will transmit information while seeking daily to "get people interested in/visit Nagato" as our main indicator.

The field of work is broad, as it involves not only the website but also the entire process of communicating the city's tourism, but I think it is easier to understand if you think of it as "a job in which a team works on everything from public relations planning and production to production.

Our immediate goal is for you to start out assisting the main staff and increase the number of jobs you are entrusted with one by one.

Below is a bulleted list of job descriptions.

 

1) Operation of the "Nanavi" tourism website and SNS.

Our main job is to manage the tourism website "Nanavi" & SNS. As you can see in the picture above, we will go out and interview people and produce articles. This job is like a so-called "web editorial production.

What to do in "Nanavi" operation
Update & check information onsightseeingspots/eventsin the city
Report & create news on topics related to tourism (events/seasonal information, etc.)
Plan & produce feature articles such as "seasonal flowers," "limited-time experience programs," and "model courses"
・Update related SNS (Instagram/X/Facebook )
Planning and progression of new communication based on data obtained from websites/SNS/advertisements, etc.
・Planning and progression of other activities to make more people aware of "Nagato's attractiveness as a tourist destination

Skills that can be acquired
Writing skills (how to create text that is easy to read and conveys information without excesses or deficiencies)
・Editing skills (arranging text, photos, videos, etc. into a "single content" that is easy to read/knowledge of media management)
・Interview skills (gathering information necessary for articles/taking photos)
・Basic knowledge of website management ( WordPress/access data analysis, etc.)
・Basic knowledge of corporate SNS account management (daily updates/insight data analysis, etc.)
・Usage of Adobe software (Photoshop/Illustrator/Lightroom, etc.)
・Photography (daily photo shooting to convey the charm of Nagato and its seasons) (how to feel the charms of Nagato and create pictures to convey them to as many people as possible)
・Video production (how to make short movies for SNS)

 

[2] Interaction with external media

In addition to the above "Nanavi" operation and city sightseeing activities, we aim to further expand Nagato's recognition by publishing in external media such as magazines, TV, and the Web. It is also important to build good relationships with media representatives and local businesses through interviews and planning.

What you will do when interacting with the media
Handling and attending media interviews (on-site guidance/coordination with interview sites, etc.) *May appear in person
・Providing information/checking articles for media coverage
・Providing sales support from publishers/advertising agencies, etc.
・Proceeding with advertising plans in cooperation with publishers/advertising agencies, etc.

Skills that can be acquired
Proofreading skills in checking manuscripts for media publication, etc. (ability to think about and propose "what it should be like" to ensure that the creative content is correct and seen by as many people as possible)
・Eye for media selection/market sense in advertising production
・Coordination skills/negotiation skills with media and interview sites

 

3) Participation in tourism PR events and sales

We will participate in tourism PR events held in urban areas (Fukuoka/Tokyo/Osaka, etc.) and conduct PR at the venues. We also plan booths and arrange novelties to be distributed. We may also conduct sales to media/travel agencies at the same time.

(4) Coordination with related organizations.

We will seek a better form of information dissemination by taking into account the needs of local businesses, including the Nagato City Hall, which is the outsourcing source, and the association's members.

Cooperation and coordination with Nagato City Hall (contracts/progress reports/production of materials/information sharing with related departments/budget)
・Cooperation and coordination with local businesses (exchange of information on tourism/provision of materials/solicitation of needs, etc.)
・Production and management of "Nanavi" website communication with outsourcing company (contracts/progress management, etc.)

 

(5) Others.

Production/progress management of tourism-related pamphlets

・Personal and telephone tourist information support

Although it may seem like a lot of work, it is done by "everyone" in cooperation with the MISHOP staff and the Tourism Policy Division of the City Hall.
