Family-friendly event with a variety of hands-on activities

Today (October 8 [Sunday]), the "Nagato Railway Festival" was held at JR Nagato Station. This event was held by JR West's Nagato Railway Department. In addition to the conductor broadcasting experience and track-automated bicycle test-ride, visitors can familiarize themselves with trains while playing at various corners in the venue, such as target practice, shinkansen fishing, and a coloring corner.

Booths of the Nagato Police Department and Senzaki Coast Guard were also set up at the venue, where families could enjoy test-rides in police cars and take commemorative photos with the mascot Umimaru-kun wearing a Coast Guard uniform.

Although the weather was unfavorable, with light rain falling during the festival, many families visited and enjoyed the festival.
