Domestic and international professional teams run through Senzaki area

Today (Saturday, November 4, 2023), the "YMfg Yamaguchi Nagato Criterium" bicycle race was held in the Senzaki area. This event is part of the Japan Cycle League (JCL), an international cycling road race. A "criterium" is a competition in which riders compete for rankings by completing a number of laps around a set course. As in last year's event, 35 laps (52.5 km) of a 1.5 km course in the Senzaki/Shiraigata area were set up for the event.

Competitions

The competition was held in slightly cloudy weather with little wind, which was good for competition. This year, 16 teams from Japan and abroad participated, up from 10 teams last year, which added to the overall intensity of the race.

Prizes are available for up to third place in the individual competition and special lap prizes established for three laps (11/18/25).

The spectator area was filled with local residents and fans of each team, cheering on the players.

The competition was streamed LIVE on Youtube.
