Warm lights will be lit in Nagato Yumoto Onsen in winter!

The "Otoshinagawa Utaakari 2023" lighting event is currently being held in the Nagato Yumoto hot spring resort area (until February 19 [Sunday]).

This year marks the fifth "Onshin River Uta Akari," which began in 2018. Various lighting effects will illuminate the hot spring resort area under the theme of the works of "Misuzu Kaneko," a children's song poet from Nagato City.

This page introduces the seven lighting areas set up at the venue with photos.

Area 1: "Phantom Light Rondo Area"

In the "Phantom Light Dance Area," various shadow puppets and lights appear as if dancing to the music and recitation of poems by Misuzu Kaneko.

Area 2: "Misuzu's Garden Area

In the "Misuzu's Garden Area," light motifs created by children from elementary and junior high schools in Nagato City are set up. Various lights such as flowers and birds are lined up in a row.

Area 3: "Dokkari Area

In the "Soil Light Area," Hagiyaki lampshades are set up to illuminate visitors' feet. These lampshades are the work of art created by children from local elementary schools and artists from the Fukagawa Kiln of Hagiyaki.

Area 4: "Fishes' Dream Area

In the "Fish Dream Area," fish lights created by kindergarten and nursery school children are placed.

Area 5: "Otosore River Area

Large-scale light motifs created by local residents and various others who participated in the Nagato Yumoto Onsen community development workshop are hung along the river.

Area 6: "Mosaic Mural of Ms. Misuzu" (New)

A mosaic painting by Misuzu Kaneko, which covers the entire wall of the event space "engawa YUMOTO," is illuminated.

Area 7: "Ichinose Area" (New)

Lights with origami crane motifs have been installed based on the theme of "Origami Asobi," a poem by Misuzu Kaneko.
