Seirei-nagashi” (floating stream of spirits) held at Nagato Yumoto Onsen

A summer tradition in a hot spring resort

On August 11 (Wed.) from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Onshin River flowing through the Nagato Yumoto hot spring resort area was used to float the spirits of the dead down the river.
This event used to be held at the same time as the Nagato Yumoto Onsen Noryo Bon Dance Festival every year, but due to the effects of the new coronavirus infection, it was held on a reduced scale following last year.

Although it had been raining every day, the weather calmed down at this time and the event was held without incident.
