Tawarayama Rhododendron Garden is in full bloom.

Blooming earlier than usual

This year, too, the Tawarayama Rhododendron Garden in the Tawarayama district of Nagato City is open.

More than 30,000 rhododendrons of 170 varieties bloom beautifully, and the park is a popular tourist spot that attracts many visitors when the flowers are in full bloom.

The standard date for viewing the blossoms is usually around April 20, but due to the mild winter, the blooming has advanced considerably as of April 2 (Fri.).

Again this year, to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, the Shakunage bus service has been cancelled, but the concession stand is scheduled to begin on April 15 (Thursday).
