Nagato Tourism Convention Association
On April 5 (Sun.), a "Marine Traffic Safety Prayer Ceremony" was held on the Qinghai Island Tourist Steamship.
This prayer service is held every year to pray for the safety of passengers and the voyage of sightseeing boats that cruise around Qinghai Island during the year. 20 people attended the prayer service.
Usually, after the ritual, a parade at sea is held with passengers selected by lottery, but this year, to prevent the transmission of the new coronavirus, the parade will be held only for those concerned.
Eight vessels, including "Cetus" and "Pink Cetus" in the shape of whales, "Dolfin" and "Enjiru" in the shape of dolphins, and "Benten," a kids' cruise ship of the Nagato Toy Museum of Art, paraded to Hanatsuura on Aomi Island.
The sight of brightly colored sightseeing boats sailing under clear skies with their big fishing flags waving is a sight to behold.
I hope that the spread of the new coronavirus infection will be brought under control as soon as possible, and that peaceful daily life will return.
We hope that many visitors will come again this year and that they will enjoy themselves safely.
