A new exhibition will start on December 6 (Fri.) at the Seifu Murata Memorial Museum.
Murata Seifu and Shufu Masanosuke, who are associated with Nagato City, and clay masks of Choshu people who were active in the end of the Edo period and the Meiji Restoration are on display.
The author is Tetsuo Maeda, chairman of the Akamaseki Kaido (Nakamichi-suji) Linking Association, Shirogahara Juku, in Mine City.
Next to the soil surface is a description of each person's accomplishments and other information.
The clay surfaces that capture each characteristic are so realistic that you would think they would start talking.
In the exhibition area on the soil surface, there will be a video broadcast and VR movies that can be viewed about the Choshu clan at the end of the Edo period and during the Restoration.
You will hear a clearer explanation.
The VR video shown here is the same one that recorded several hours of waiting to receive numbered tickets at the Yamaguchi Yumehana Expo held the year before last, and is a 7-minute VR video with an additional scene from the Matsushita-murajuku.
Wear a special eye mask (50 yen) and goggles.
Switch on the remote control in your hand and you can go back in time to Choshu at the end of the Edo period.
The feeling of eye contact with the people in the VR is very realistic, and the scene of the raising of the army is so powerful that you can't help but close your eyes.
We invite you to experience the fascinating 360-degree images of VR.
The "Bakumatsu Restoration in Choshu through Soil Surface and VR Video" will run until January 20, 2020 (Monday).
On days with blue skies, the observation room on the second floor of the Murata Seifu Memorial Museum, which overlooks Senzaki Bay, is also recommended.
