A closing ceremony was held on Friday, April 5 at Reiyu, Nagato Yumoto Onsen, which closed its doors as of March 31, 2019.
In accordance with the tourism town development of Nagato Yumoto Onsen, "Reiyu" is scheduled to be demolished this month.
After the sutra reading by Iwata, the chief priest of Daneiji Temple, the mayor of Onishi City, the inn, government officials, and members of the community burned incense.
One by one, they quietly put their hands together and wished for the safety of the construction work and the development of Yumoto Onsen, expressing their gratitude for the Reiyu that has been their home for many years.
Onyu, located down the hill from Rei-yu, is currently undergoing a reconstruction project by the Nagato Yumori, a group of young local residents.
Renovation work is still underway, with an opening scheduled for November 2019.
