On Sunday, June 9, "Misumi Herb Fun Day" was held around the herb garden next to the Yasuo Kagetsu Museum of Art in the Misumi district of Nagato City. This event is held every year around this time and is so popular that many people visit before the start time.
Immediately after the event started, the area where the herb and flower seedlings were sold was the first to be crowded. Many people look forward to this sale every year, and everyone was selecting seedlings with serious expressions on their faces.
In the herb garden, the flowers were just at their best, and everyone was strolling and taking pictures as they pleased. Some of them asked the staff, "What is the name of that yellow flower?" and the staff explained about herbs to visitors, creating a friendly atmosphere.
At the entrance of the herb garden, the first 50 children will receive a sketchbook and crayons.
The children who received the book immediately started drawing colorful plants on the blank pages. It was very funny to see them drawing on the bench with their friends, and some of them took pictures of them.
The event will feature attractions for both children and adults.
There were street performances, herb wreath making, horse feeding and horseback riding workshops.
The children were especially delighted with the bubble machine.
Parents also turned their cameras to take pictures of their children enjoying themselves.
The high temperature for the day was 24 degrees Celsius. Still, it was hot for the children playing, and there were lines for soft ice cream, cold drinks, and shaved ice.
In addition, bento lunches, farm products, sweets, and other items were also available for sale, with some visitors asking if they could buy some for their dinner tonight.
Misumi Herb Enjoyment Day" is held every year at this time.
We hope you had a good time again this year with lots of smiles, laughter, and conversation among the visitors. We hope the event will be held again next year under blue skies.
