About the writer:
Nagato Tourism Convention Association
Etsuro Murao, a member of the Nagato City Regional Development Cooperation Volunteers, who has been involved in tourism projects since May 2009, has now launched "Nagato ", a local media to introduce the charms of Nagato, and its website was opened on February 20, 2009 (Wednesday).
Local media are media that deal with information from a specific region.
The concept of "Nagato" is to introduce "interesting" things in Nagato City. In addition to local news and event information, "Nagato " also provides information on daily life and small local attractions.
Among the articles currently available, "Interviews" and "Yomimono" focusing on food, such as "Meat Rice" by Momoya Shokudo, loved by Nagato City lagers, "Oni no Boko" by Toraya, a popular Setsubun confectionery, bento boxes made by the folks at Utsuga Kobo, and how to grill delicious yakitori, caught our attention. The "Interviews" and "Yomimono" featuring food will catch your attention.
Unlike official tourist information websites, Murao says he wants to deliver the "real voices" of his interviewees, including their dialects and phrases.
The articles are lined with photographs and text that convey not only the atmosphere of the interview, but also the personality of the interviewee.
A corner titled "Can you speak Nagatoben?" introduces the dialect of Nagato City.
The first article, "Ago-shi-go-suru-ke-te-go-shi-ya," with detailed explanations, will make you want to listen more closely to the words spoken by Nagato people in the future. It even introduces some key points of speech that you can use yourself starting tomorrow.
And the illustrations drawn by Mr. Murao add color to the articles.
The soft touch makes the articles easier to understand and more approachable.
In addition to the articles, you can also read the manga "Nagato Gurashi," which describes daily life from the perspective of a housewife of child-rearing age living in the city, and enjoy seeing Nagato City from various perspectives.
Mr. Murao is enthusiastic about updating the site almost every weekday.
In addition to sending out information to people outside the city, they also try to operate the magazine in such a way that people in the city will want to take a look and wonder what is on it today.
I hope that everyone in the city will share their 'interesting' things with us, and that Nagato City will become a place where people who are interested in Nagato City, people who live in Nagato City, and even creators can interact. It would be great if we could create "Nagato" together.
You will find a different face of Nagato City in "Nagato-to", a local media where you can find "Interesting! You will find a different look at Nagato City in the local media "NAGATO-TO-TO " than in the tourism site "NANAVI". Please take a look.
