Bright News in Nagato City with Hot Springs

Aburaya Bay Hot Spring was awarded first place in the "Moist Skin Category" in the "Hot Spring General Election 2018" held from May 14, 2018 to January 31, 2019. Following the previous award, a debriefing was held today, March 14 (Thu.) at the mayor's office of Nagato City Hall to report that Aburaya Bay Onsen has won first place in the "moist skin" category for the second consecutive year.

Director Okafuji reports his joy at receiving the award.

We are happy to hear the joyful comments from the community and guests. I hope that the keyword "hot spring" will brighten up Nagato City and become an opportunity for everyone to get to know each other. We will continue to protect the quality of the springs and play a role in Nagato City's hot springs," said Director Okafuji.

The mayor was delighted, saying, "I'm sure a lot of people came to see the award in a category that you can't really understand until you've been in it. It's a wonderful thing," said the mayor, expressing his delight.

What is the Hot Springs General Election?

This is the third year for the Onsen General Election, a project to revitalize hot spring resorts, in which the public votes to support hot spring resorts. The public can vote three times a day for one e-mail address (one vote for the same hot spring resort) on the Onsen General Election website, and approximately 1,160,000 votes were cast during the period. There were 120 hot spring resorts throughout Japan entered in 9 categories, and 24 hot spring resorts entered in the "Moist Skin" category.
