The Onshin River is a clear stream that winds through the ryokan district of Nagato Yumoto Onsen. Kawayuka," or riverbeds, have been installed at three locations as part of the ongoing development of the tourist town, and are hot spots where visitors can feel the murmuring of the river up close.
Just in time for the spring season, when the cherry blossoms are dancing and the days are poka-poka, the "Omotenashi Plan" is now available to enjoy café time and breakfast on the kawadoko. In this report, we would like to introduce some of the plans we actually tasted at Kawayuka.
On March 29 (Fri.), with the appearance of clay brushes along the riverside and the feeling of spring, a "kawadoko opening" safety prayer ceremony was held at the kawadoko in front of the former Onyu bathhouse.
On this day, the "Nagauchi-Yumoto Osoto Utilization Council", which promotes the use of public spaces such as "Kawayuka", as well as the local government and community attended the event. Mr. Iwata, the head priest of Daneiji Temple, prayed for the prosperity and accident-free use of the riverbed and river use during the season.
Of the three "kawadoko" locations in Nagato Yumoto Onsen, the one in front of the old Onyu is located in the center.
Open to the public, visitors can sit and rest on the riverbed where a cool breeze blows at any time.
One of the best ways to enjoy the spa is to relax in the open space with a beverage purchased from a store in the spa resort.
Three plans are available at the "kawadoko" in front of Otani Villa, which is located at the most upstream point and where you can also enjoy cherry blossoms.
The plan we experienced this time was the "Kawayoko Cafe", which offers three kinds of bread and coffee from "THE BAKERY" at Otani Villa.
Enjoying homemade bread and hot coffee with the view spread out in front of you is a special taste.
We spent a luxurious time surrounded by nature.
Other plans include the "Kawadoko Meeting Plan," where you can relax and talk, and the "Kawadoko Lunch Plan," where you can enjoy the chef's special hanami bento (cherry blossom viewing lunch). For details, please see Ootani Sanso "KAWADOKO PLAN" for more details. for details.
A riverbed in front of Tamasenkaku set up on the Daneiji River, a tributary of the Onshin River.
Here, you can enjoy a sumptuous congee meal that includes shark's fin, abalone, and kikurage mushrooms, all of which are said to have been favorites of Yang Gui Hui.
This porridge meal is prepared as a plan only for hotel guests and is sure to make for a wonderful morning.
