The “Hot Springs General Election 2017” award presentation ceremony was held at Nagato City Hall.

On December 15, the "Hot Springs General Election 2017" award presentation meeting was held at Nagato City Hall, where Akifumi Okafuji, Director of Hotel Yanggikan, Aburaya Bay Hot Springs, presented his report to Mayor Kurao Onishi.

The "Onsen General Election 2017" is a hot spring revitalization project that ranks hot spring resorts nationwide according to Internet voting (voting period: July 1 - October 31). Eighty-three hot spring resorts across Japan entered each of the nine divisions, with Aburaya Wan Onsen, Nagato Yumoto Onsen, and Tawarayama Onsen participating from Nagato City. As a result, Aburaya Bay Onsen was awarded first place in the "moist skin" category and second place in the "spectacular view" category, and received an award at an award ceremony held in Tokyo recently.

Director Okafuji said, "We are grateful to the local community, the natural blessings of Nagato City, and the support of our customers for this award. At the award ceremony in Tokyo, we promoted the charms of Nagato City, including the Five Famous Hot Springs. I would like to continue to work even harder without forgetting my gratitude to all of you," he reported to the mayor.

Mayor Onishi receives report

Mayor Onishi commented, "I believe that the fact that Aburaya Bay Hot Springs received this award out of all the famous hot springs in Japan is a result of the hard work and dedication of President Okafuji, the directors, and the staff of Yanggikan on a daily basis. I am happy that this is a great promotion for Nagato City as a hot spring resort. I look forward to their continued success in the future. I look forward to your continued success in the future," he said.
