20160619_Mukotoku Zenji Temple 20160619_Mukotoku Zenji Temple As of May 19, 2016 (Heisei 28), the hydrangea at Koutokuzenji Temple has hardly bloomed yet, but there are many buds. There was one hydrangea with flowers. The best time to see them is usually around mid-June, so we are looking forward to seeing them from now on. We will keep you posted on the status of the hydrangeas, so please check back and don't miss the best time to see them!
About 3,000 hydrangeas are planted at Koutokuzenji Temple.

The main deity is Shakyamuni Buddha. Originally called Mukotsu-an, the temple was renamed Mukotoku-an after the merger with Kaitoku-ji in 1897, and was renamed Mukotoku-zenji in the Showa period (1926-1989).The temple is also known as "Hydrangea Temple," and is a famous spot for hydrangeas.
