The "Nagato Yacht Festa" is held every July to let as many people as possible know the charms of Nagato, which is blessed with the sea, and is now in its 23rd year. The main event is a "yacht race" around Aomi Island, and related events include a "kids' triathlon," a "seine net experience school," and a "yacht race spectator cruise. The Nagato Yacht Festa 2016 Executive Committee is currently recruiting participants for its related events! We look forward to seeing many of you there. All the members of the Nagato Yacht Festa 2016 Executive Committee Marin Juku Stage 1/ Seine Net School ■Date:Saturday, June 18, 2015, 10:00-13:30 *Preliminary date in case of rain: Saturday, June 25 *In case of rain, please call the Nagato City Tourism Section (0837-23-1137) between 8:30 and 9:00.■ Location:Fukagawa Bay, Nagato City (near the mouth of Fukagawa River) ■Schedule 10:00～ Opening ceremony 10:10～ Groups will be divided 10:20～ Seine netting (1st) 11:00～ Seine netting (2nd) 12:00～ Lunch (beach nabe with freshly caught fish, etc.) 13:00～ Clean up (leave no trash behind to keep the sea clean) 13:00 20～ Closing ceremony ■ Target: Elementary school students to adults ■ Number of applicants: About 150 people *Elementary school students and younger are to be accompanied by a parent or guardian (responsible person) ■ Participation fee: 500 yen/person (to be collected on the day) ■ Application method: Fill out the Nagato Yacht Festa 2016 Marine School and Marine Sports Application Form 1 and fax, mail or bring it to the secretariat. Kids Triathlon ■ Date and time:Sunday, July 17, 2016, 10:00 start■ Location:Around Senzaki Sawayaka Beach, Nagato City■ Schedule8:00-9:00 Registration 9:15-9:40 Opening Ceremony 11:00-Awards Ceremony (1st to 3rd place for men and women in each class) / Closing Ceremony *After the Closing Ceremony, fish catching will be held■Target audience:Male and female elementary school students who are confident enough to complete the prescribed distance ■Participation classes: Class A / 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade elementary school students Class B / 4th, 5th, and 6th grade elementary school students ■Participation fee: 500 yen/person (collected on the day) ■Number of applicants: Approximately 40 students for each of A and B classes ■Recruitment period: Until June 24, 2016 (Friday) *But the program will be closed when it reaches capacity.
