On Sunday, October 6, Oomijima market 2019 was held for the first time on Aomi Island, Nagato City.
Due to strong winds on the day of the event, the venue was changed from "Qinghai Island Camping Village" to inside a nearby private parking lot.
About 20 stalls from around the city and the prefecture gathered for the event.
Every store has a display that makes you want to take pictures.
Visitors' eyes sparkle, but they are serious in their selection of works as it is an opportunity to meet artists whom they rarely see.
SUP Yoga" will be held in the inland sea near the venue.
SUP is a water sport that originated in Hawaii, and we will be using the board for yoga.
The yoga session took place on the crystal clear sea. It looked so pleasant that I felt refreshed just by looking at it.
When I returned to the venue, stallholders who had arrived a little late were preparing to open their stalls.
Handmade breads are beautifully arranged. The delicious smells naturally draw people to line up.
The bread seemed to be especially popular and sold out quickly.
Drinks include the now popular tapioca drink, as well as wine and coffee unique to the event.
You can feel as if you are in a restaurant, coffee is dripped in front of you, and you can enjoy a stylish space even while outside.
Many stores in the market offered hands-on experiences.
Parents and children could enjoy parfait-making, stilts, body painting, and other activities, which explains why there were so many parents and children in the hall.
The most exciting part of the venue was the radio control area.
Some of the children were seeing radio-controlled cars for the first time, and were delighted to see them with controllers in hand.
This event is not only about buying and eating.
It must have been a very fun event for children who are interested in everything.
During the event, I saw many people shopping, eating, and chatting.
It is perhaps only at events like this that conversations can continue between stall holders and visitors, or between stall holders and visitors, even when they have never met each other before.
The event was always cheerful and full of smiles, thanks in part to the DJ playing music.
This event was very close to the people, and one could feel the warmth of the people.
I feel that the encounter on Qinghai Island will lead to another encounter somewhere else.
Qinghai Island is famous for its swimming, camping, and diving spots, but we believe that visitors to the island will spread the good qualities of Qinghai Island in a different way through these events.
