Shimano Racing, a bicycle road race team, to Nagato City

Courtesy visit in conjunction with the training camp

From October 6 (Sun.) to 11 (Fri.), Shimano Racing, a cycling road race team based in Nagato City, has been holding a training camp. 9 members, 8 athletes and 1 coach, visited Nagato City Hall on October 8 (Tue.) and paid a courtesy call on Mayor Onishi.

The team is scheduled to compete in the Japan Cup Cycle Road Race to be held in Tochigi Prefecture on Sunday, October 20.

In his greeting, coach Hidenori Notera said, "I am glad that we can practice in a good environment at this important time for the Japan Cup. I hope we will have another opportunity to hold another training camp in Nagato City in the future.

The team is a leader in Japanese cycling, having produced this year's "All Japan Cycling Championships Road Race" winner Shotaro Iribe. The riders politely answered Mayor Onishi's questions about their training and the points that make the difference between victory and defeat.

Between practices, the players stop by the café at Nagato Yumoto Onsen or take a dip in the hot spring to relieve their fatigue.

We hope that the time spent in Nagato City will lead to the "Japan Cup".

Guest Riders on November 23

The " Nagano Blue Ocean Ride with Akiyoshidai" cycling event will be held on Saturday, November 23, with a record number of 460 entrants. Hidenori Noji, Naogo Ichimaru, Ryo Minato, Sakiya Kuroeda and Tadaaki Nakai from Shimano Racing will be our guests.
