Lights event to decorate Nagato Yumoto Onsen in winter

Today (Saturday, January 30), the " Otonoshigawa Utaakari 2021 - Gentetsu Rinkai" lighting event will begin at Nagato Yumoto Onsen (17:30-22:00, daily until February 28 [Sunday]).

This event is the latest version of the "Otosurigawa Utaakari" that has been held annually in the same hot spring resort since 2018.

This year's "Utaakari" is characterized by its "three-part structure. The venue is largely divided into three areas ("Genkan Rinbu Area," "Misuzu's Garden Area," and "Otosore River Area"), and each area will feature a different concept of the performance.

Phantom Dance Area

In the "Phantom Light Dance Area" from the staircase in the bamboo grove to the Onyu Plaza, narration of 10 poems by Misuzu Kaneko and the chorus of "Kodama desu ka" by the children of Misuzu Nursery School will be played along with the lights.

Misuzu Garden Area

In the "Misuzu's Garden Area" set on the lawn of Onyu Plaza, approximately 3,000 paper lampshades made by children from kindergartens, nursery schools, elementary schools and junior high schools in the city will be installed.
