On Monday, March 15, "Nagato Tourism Culture Seminar Fieldwork" was held at various locations in Nagato City. This is one of the training courses for "Nagato Tourism Concierge," a program to develop human resources capable of providing hospitality unique to Nagato City, and is the second part of a class in which participants learn by actually experiencing Nagato's sightseeing spots.

The first program of the day was a lecture by Hojo Iwata (chief priest) of Daneiji Temple. He talked about the drama of the Warring States period from the perspective of "economy," focusing on the Ouchi family, which has a deep connection with Daneiji.
After the lecture, the participants were given a guided tour of Torakiden, a museum at Daneiji Temple.
The next program was a guided tour of the town by the Yumoto Machizukuri Council. The course starts from Daneiji Temple, passes along the old approach to the temple, and then circles around the hot spring resort area.
The walk was a mixture of historic and new discoveries in Nagato Yumoto Onsen, where the weather was a little chilly, but there were definite signs of spring.
The third program, following the one at Nagato Yumoto Onsen, was a walk around the hot spring resort town of Tawarayama. Mr. Miyano of the Tawarayama Shittorukai acted as guide.
The tour focused on guiding visitors through the historic buildings of the hot spring resort, and also took them to see the source of the Tawarayama hot spring.
After the walk through the town of Tawarayama was over, a certification test based on the previous lessons was conducted. Participants took the exam seriously.
After the examination, successful candidates will move on to the next step of the Nagato Tourism Concierge Training Course: Hospitality Training.
