2016.8.23 Yakitori Shrine Memorial Service was held
Nagato City in Yamaguchi Prefecture is famous for Senzaki fish cake, and fish meal, which contains the most costly animal protein of all chicken feed, has long been readily available. For this reason, poultry farming was a side business for farmers. Today, the Fukagawa Chicken Farmers' Association has been established, and chicken raising of "Choshu Kuro-Kashiwa," "Choshu Jidori," and "Choshu Dori" is being conducted. With this background, there are many yakitori restaurants in Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and the city is said to be one of the top yakitori towns in Japan in terms of the number of yakitori restaurants per population density.
The "Western Japan Yakitori Festival in Nagato" is held every year in Nagato, the city of yakitori, where yakitori restaurants gather from all over Japan. The "Yakitori Shrine Memorial Service" is held in conjunction with the festival to express gratitude to the chickens that have become yakitori and to pray for the success of the "Western Japan Yakitori Festival in Nagato".
