As of April 28, 2017, the Higashi Gohata terraced rice field is about one-third full of water
Squid fishing boats are still scarce.The terraced rice fields on the right side facing the ocean from the observatory (top photo) are about 80% filled with water, but the fields on the observatory side (bottom photo) tend to be filled later every year.
What is Higashi Gohata Terraced Rice Field...
It is one of the most spectacular spots in the country where you can see terraced rice fields, fishing fires, and the sunset at the same time.The best time to see the fishing fires and rice paddies is from late April to June each year.
Shooting conditions
On Saturday nights, when the weather is bad, there are fewer fishing fires because many people do not fish.The fishing season begins in mid-May.
The reflection of the paddy field changes as the rice grows in stages from June onward.
After September, the fishing grounds gradually move offshore, and the fishing fires become more distant.
