Asuka II" Senzaki Port Call Event Report

On May 12, 2017, the Asuka II, a luxury cruise liner, called at the Senzaki fishing port in Nagato City, and various welcoming events were held at the Senzaki tourist base!
In the morning, children from Misuzu Nursery School and Aoi Kindergarten welcomed Asuka II passengers who arrived in Senzaki by sightseeing steamship.
We are so glad you came to Nagato! The passengers arrived at Senzaki with smiles on their faces.


At the event site set up at the Senzaki tourist base, passengers were entertained by a wide variety of tent booths, including Nagato's signature yakitori (grilled chicken), isoyaki (grilled seafood), and
a footbath booth from Tawarayama Onsen.
Near the tent booths, the Japanese drumming group "Aonami" performed taiko drumming and dancing, enlivening the crowd.



At the end of the day, local residents boarded the sightseeing steamer to see Asuka II off.



Unfortunately, it rained that afternoon.
Nonetheless, the people of Nagato waved their handkerchiefs loudly and said, "Come again! and waving their handkerchiefs in a loud voice, "Thanks, but it's too cold to come back! But it's cold, so please go back! But it's too cold to go back now!
Although the weather was not favorable, the warm hospitality of Nagato must have been conveyed to the passengers.
