The Dori Whale Festival is held every year in the Dori district of Nagato City, which has prospered from old-style whaling, and includes a demonstration of old-style whaling and a Japanese boat race. This year's festival is scheduled for July 15 (Sun.), and currently staff members are being recruited for the old-style whaling demonstration and the Japanese boat rowing competition.
You can experience the brave old-style whaling by wearing an original red loincloth and riding on a Japanese-style boat.
Eligibility] People who are 18 years old or older and can swim (regardless of whether they live in the city or not)
[Number of applicants] First 20 applicants
[Participation fee] Free
[Privilege] Receive an original red loincloth
It is a timed race in a pailon boat, rowed by eight people.

[Participation fee] 1,000 yen (as insurance fee)
