7/16 13:30 Update] Congestion at Motonosumi Shrine during the three-day weekend

Please be aware of traffic congestion.

Please refrain from parking on the street! Please do not park on the streets near the shrine: parking on the streets near the shrine will prevent large vehicles from coming and going and will cause further traffic congestion. Please be sure to use the parking lot.

Congestion as of 13:30 on July 16: [Parking lot full] Several cars waiting to park.

Currently, many visitors are coming to Motonosumi Shrine in Nagato City, causing traffic congestion on surrounding roads. In some cases, it may take hours to enter the parking lot from the shrine area. We ask that you please take this traffic congestion into consideration when visiting the shrine.

Please refrain from coming after sunset as the surrounding streets are narrow and there are no street lights.

Request to ease traffic congestion

In order to alleviate this traffic congestion, we will also be closing the area around the shrine to vehicular traffic as follows.

Parking fee

Passenger cars (116 vehicles) 300 yen per hour 100 yen for each additional hour, up to 500 yen
・Buses (6 vehicles) 1,500 yen per visit
・Motorcycles (approx. 20 vehicles) 100 yen per visit
