On October 20 (Sat), Nagato City Regional Development Cooperation Volunteer Koji Nakata, who is in charge of the Senzaki area, organized a Nagatrip "Senzaki Charity Trip: Eight Views of Senzaki and an Abandoned School Cafe".
There were four participants on this day, and the journey began at Senza Kitchen, a roadside station.
You can bring your own bicycle, but the tourist information center "YUKUTE" has a full lineup of rental bicycles. This time, all of us rented "bicycles with electric power assists" and set off while enjoying the blue sky.
This bicycle tour of the "Eight Views of Senzaki" was written by the children's song poet Misuzu Kaneko. The first stop was Gion Shrine (Yasaka Shrine).
We prayed for the safety of our trip and got the first stamp on our card.
The group then went up the Qinghai Bridge to Qinghai Island.
Electric bicycles can easily ride up such slopes.
Ojiyama Park, which greets you first, is a spot where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Senzaki.
It was a blue sky, the sun was reflecting off the sea, and the sea was sparkling.
After viewing the terraced rice paddies of Qinghai Island and the "Nami no Hashidate" that divides the sea from the lake, visit the "Qinghai Island Republic," an exchange facility that utilizes an abandoned school.
Currently, Mr. Nakata is touring the Senzaki area with a cart cart stall, selling coffee and hot sandwiches. Inside the school building, he serves carefully dripped coffee.
The water used is commonly known as "phantom hot spring water" from Qinghai Island. We were also served "orange juice" made from the same hot spring water.
And all the stamps are there.
Misuzu's poems that you have heard before will have a different impression when you actually see the scenery with your own eyes. You will be able to appreciate the poems more deeply.
The completed stamp card will be a special coupon that can be used at stores in the Senzaki area.
The time was just past noon, and the group enjoyed lunch while reflecting on their "bike trip.
This event is also scheduled for Sunday, November 4. Reservations are now being accepted.
