You can enjoy hot springs in various forms such as footbaths and drinking baths.

Tawarayama Onsen has five sources of hot spring water, and the high quality hot spring water is still gushing forth. If you are planning a longer stay at a ryokan in Tawarayama Onsen, why not try a "Touji" (hot spring cure), which is said to have cured illnesses and injuries in ancient times. 1 week is one cycle, which is repeated 3 times (3 weeks in total) for full effect, but it may be arranged according to the length of your trip.

 

Touji Example of 1 cycle

  • First to third day: 2 to 3 times a day in a hot spring
  • Day 4: Bathe once a day (or take a break from bathing).
  • Days 5-7: Soak in hot springs 2 to 3 times a day

*Aim for about 15 minutes per bath.

*At the beginning of bathing, take a shower or half-body bath to acclimate your body to the bath.

*Be sure to stay hydrated and take a rest for at least 30 minutes after bathing.
