We are pleased to inform you of the blooming status of "Blue Lotus" at Saienji Temple again this year.
The blue lotus is a "cinnabus" with many petals, and the lotus that blooms at Saien-ji Temple is a variety called rozan shiro (white). It is a rare lotus that is blue in bud and pure white when in bloom. It usually blooms from late June to August, and the best time to see it is around early July.
