Nagato Yumoto Onsen, Special Program to Pray for Seasonal Safety and Enjoy "Spring" to the Fullest

On Friday, March 21, 2025, Nagato Yumoto Onsen held a "Kawayuka (riverbed) Opening" and presented a program of experiences that will take place in the hot spring resort area. This page reports on the event.

Kawayuka (riverbeds) are set up at several locations along the Otosoregawa River in the hot spring resort area, and are a mechanism for enjoying a stroll through the hot spring resort under the concept of "Osoto Tengoku (Paradise in Osoto). The "kawadoko opening" was held at the kawadoko in front of the Onyu hot spring bathhouse, where people involved in the Nagato Yumoto hot spring resort prayed for safety during the season.

Spring Experience Program Unveiling

A menu of experiences that can be enjoyed at various locations in the hot spring resort area was introduced.

This plan allows you to enjoy your lunch time on the terrace where you can feel the mountains of Nagato Yumoto and the murmuring of the river. You can choose from two types of lunch menus: a bread set using homemade bread from "THE BAKERY" at Otani Villa, and a clubhouse sandwich prepared by the chef. Otani Sanso will also offer a variety of other events during the cherry blossom viewing season from March 22 (Sat) to April 6 (Sun), including a "Kawayuka Ohanami Bento" (special lunch boxes for cherry blossom viewing) and the "Sakura Bus" shuttle bus service to the cherry blossom viewing spot, Daneiji Temple. Kai Nagato "Dorayaki Chakago - The Season's Outdoor Tea Ceremony" (Dorayaki Tea Basket)

This set menu allows you to enjoy the changing of the four seasons while making powdered green tea in a bowl made of "Fukagawa Hagi" from the Minose area of Nagato Yumoto, and enjoy dorayaki made by the Akebono Café in Kai Nagato. (*Opening period: throughout the year)

Ichinose Bridge "Afternoon Tea on the Cherry Blossom Bridge

This reservation-only open cafe will be held at Ichinose Bridge in the Nagato Yumoto hot spring resort area. Visitors can enjoy tea time with carefully selected spring sweets offered by each store in the hot spring resort area while admiring the cherry blossoms lining the Onshin River. (*Opening period: Friday, March 28, 2025 - Monday, April 7, 2025)
