The "Tawarayama Onsen Matsuri" is being held today (Saturday, April 20, 2024) and tomorrow (Sunday, April 21, 2024) in the Tawarayama hot spring resort area. This festival is held every April in the hot spring resort area, and includes Kabuki and Japanese drum performances by local volunteers, a ding-dong parade, and a children's portable shrine.
Universal flags were displayed in the hot spring resort area, and stalls were lined up in various locations.
From 1:00 p.m., a Kabuki performance by local volunteers will be held on a stage set up in front of Kumano Shrine.
After the Kabuki performance, there will be a ding-dong parade. The parade parades through the hot spring resort area with street performances.
The rain that began to fall during the ding-dong parade gradually turned into a full-blown downpour.
In the rain, the children's portable shrines depart from Kumano Shrine and proceed through the hot spring resort area with shouts of encouragement.
The mikoshi will make a round trip through the hot spring resort and then be delivered to a shrine.
According to the forecast, it is not expected to rain tomorrow. There will be a variety of events scheduled for tomorrow, so please come and join us!
