Today (Wednesday, January 24, 2024), a press conference was held by the Nagato Food and Beverage Association at Yoshikame Ryokan in Nagato City, where a new menu item, "Kofuku Milt Sake," was announced to be available at restaurants in the city.

Mouthfuls of Milt Sake. All restaurants that serve this dish will use this one. The price is 1,500 yen (tax included) for all restaurants.

Kuchifuku Shirako Sake" is a menu item offered by volunteers from the union's member restaurants. It features grilled globefish milt and fillet in sake produced in Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is characterized by the ability to enjoy the broth from the fillet and the rich and creamy milt together, and has been offered since last December.

Just before serving, the surface is heated to remove some of the alcohol.

The name "Kuchifuku" means "Fugu (*) comes to your mouth," and you can enjoy the taste of fugu in your own way, either by dipping the grilled milt in sake or by taking it out and enjoying it separately.

(*)Fugu (blowfish) is derived from the name "fuku (Fuku)" in Yamaguchi Prefecture.

It was also announced that the donations collected by the Nagato Food and Beverage Association would be entrusted to the Yamaguchi Prefecture Beverage Industry and Health Trade Association, which would also compile donations from its member associations in other regions and send them to Kanazawa in February as support for the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on Monday, January 1.

In addition, the Nagato Food and Beverage Association's "Memories Shokudo Project" (a campaign for single-parent families in the city to win rice and meal coupons) was also introduced, and local farmers handed over rice as prizes to the association.
