On Sunday, October 29, the "Kayoi Sea Urchin Base Tour" will be held in the Oomishima-Kayoi area.

This is a project related to "a-go 2023," a community revitalization art event to be held on the same day. Starting from Dori Junior High School, the event venue, participants will cycle through the fishing town that once flourished as an old-style whaling base. Upon arrival at KAYOI UNI BASE, a sea urchin farm, visitors will tour the facility and try their hand at shelling sea urchins. This is a rare opportunity to learn about the traditions of the fishing town and its efforts toward the future while enjoying cycling. Please join us!
