Community Revitalization Art Event Using Closed School

Today (Sunday, October 29, 2023), "a-go 2023" was held in the Dori district of Qinghai Island. a-go 2023" is a community revitalization art event that utilizes the closed Dori Junior High School. Restaurants and handmade artisans from around the city and beyond will set up store in the school building and gymnasium, and a variety of other events will also be held. Event-only "Qinghai Island Tourist Steamer" to Dori

In addition to direct access to the venue by car, visitors could also take a boat to a nearby location, thanks to the cooperation of Senzaki's "Aomi Island Kanko Kisen" (Blue Sea Island Tourist Steamship), which was available only for this event.

Originally scheduled to run once an hour from 10:00 to 15:00, it has been changed to run as soon as it arrives at Senzaki←→Dori respectively due to its great popularity.

The venue had a long line of visitors before the event began.

Outdoors and gymnasium

The outside of the building and the gymnasium are lined with stores, mainly food and beverage related.

Inside the school building

Many stores were set up on each floor and in each classroom, mainly featuring the works of handmade artists.

Various limited events are also available.

Kayoi sea urchin base tour and hands-on cycle tour

This is a cycle tour to/from Tong Junior High School. The tour included a visit to the "Kayoi Sea Urchin Base," a sea urchin slaughterhouse about 3 km round trip, and a sea urchin shelling experience and tasting.

"Wrestling Ring MYWAY: Lucha Libre at an Abandoned School.

A special wrestling show by Fukuoka's lucha libre organization "MYWAY" was also held! Many people from the city and beyond came to the event.

The audience was excited to see the powerful wrestling up close.

The event was a great success with lots of fun in addition to the market.
