Today (Sunday, January 22), a "Visiting Lecture by the Curator of the Kaneko Misuzu Memorial Museum" was held in the Nagato Yumoto hot spring resort area. This was a special program related to the "Onshin River Uta Akari 2023" lighting event being held in the hot spring resort area. This is an event to further enjoy "Utaakari," in which works by "Misuzu Kaneko," a children's song poet from Nagato City, are incorporated into the lighting effects.
The venue was Ontou, a drop-in hot spring bath located in the center of the hot spring resort area. The lecturer was Ms. Chika Uno, curator at the Misuzu Kaneko Memorial Museum.

The lecture titled "Heartwarming Misuzu Songs" will start with a talk by Ms. Misuzu Kaneko herself. Various episodes related to Ms. Misuzu and the historical background of her life from the late Taisho period to the early Showa period will be introduced.
The second half of the program is a commentary on six of the 13 poems used in the "Utaakari" production ("Big Fishing," "Kodama desu ka," "Laughter," "Sakura no ki," "Tale no okuni," and "Hagamadan").
At the end of the lecture, Ms. Uno said, "By learning about Ms. Misuzu's personality and experiencing her work yourself, you will come to like her work even more and find new charms in it. I hope that this lecture and exposure to 'Utaakari' will provide such an opportunity." She also expressed her thoughts to the participants.
This lecture will be held on January 29, February 5, 12, and 19, as well as today, and every Sunday during the "Otonoshigawa Utaakari 2023" period. Reservations can be made on the day of the class, so please feel free to attend (reservations have priority).
