The "Onshinagawa Utaakari 2023" lighting event is currently being held in the Nagato Yumoto hot spring resort area.

There will be many special programs during the period.

On February 4 (Sat), the "Soil Akari Production Workshop" and "Uta Akari Field Tour with Lighting Designer" were held.

Clay Light Making Workshop

This workshop allows visitors to actually make "earthen light" candle holders made of Hagiyaki pottery, which are installed at the light-up venues. Participants enjoyed making their own original candle holders while learning from local Hagiyaki Fukagawa Kiln artists.

Local tour of Utaakari with lighting designers.

This tour allows visitors to tour the venue with Shiho Nagamachi, who designed the lighting for the light-up event, and receive direct commentary from her.

First, we will gather in front of Onyu. After hearing an overview of the "Otonoshin River Utaakari 2023" event, we will tour several light-up areas.

While listening to the explanation, everyone who participated took pictures.

At the end of the tour, souvenirs were handed out to all guided tour participants, who left with smiles on their faces.

It was a valuable experience to hear directly from the designers, and everyone seemed to have a fulfilling time.

The "Otoshinagawa Utaakari 2023," a winter festival in Nagato Yumoto Onsen, is still open (until February 19 [Sunday]).
