Tawarayama Rhododendron Garden will open (April 11~)

More than 30,000 magnificent rhododendrons of about 170 varieties

Tawarayama Shakunage-en," located in the Tawarayama district of Nagato City, will open on Monday, April 11. The Tawarayama Rhododendron Garden, with more than 30,000 rhododendrons of about 170 varieties, is a poetic springtime tradition in the Tawarayama area. During the opening period, local residents will set up stores selling locally grown vegetables and processed foods.

The standard time to see the rhododendrons at Tawarayama is usually around April 20, but according to a local resident, "this year is expected to be a little later than usual. Please look forward to seeing photos of the blooming flowers in "Nanavi" as well!

*The Shakunage Bus (direct bus service from Tawarayama Onsen town) will not be in operation in 2022.
