Today (Tuesday, July 5), Mr. Shiro Takeyama, Managing Director of MontBell, Inc. gave a lecture entitled "The Future Outdoors Aimed at by Nagato City" at "Laporte Yuya" in the Aburaya district of Nagato City. This event was held to commemorate the opening of the Shimonoseki/Mine/Nagato route of the " Japan Eco Truck (*)" operated by the company.
(*)A style of travel advocated by Montbell, Inc. Routes are set up to enjoy nature, history, culture, and interaction in various regions of Japan by trekking, canoeing, bicycling, and other means of transportation.
The lecture began with an overview of Japan Eco Trucks, starting with company initiatives such as the MontBell Friends Club, Friends Areas, and Friends Shops. On the topic of eco-tracks, he emphasized the importance of improving reception systems such as visitor centers and cooperation with public transportation.
As for the outlook after certification as an eco-truck, he said, "I have the impression that many people in Nagato City are actively involved in outdoor activities. If we can develop these points and build a base facility so that many people can enjoy the outdoors, I think we will see a different picture of Nagato City. He also commented, "I think that the city of Nagato has a lot of people who are actively involved in outdoor activities.
