Senzaki Gion Festival and Dance Presentation” was held

Despite the reduced scale of the event, the dancers showed the results of their practice to the fullest.

On Monday, July 26, "Senzaki Gion Festival and Dance Presentation" was held in Senzaki, Nagato City.
The Senzaki Gion Festival is a traditional festival in the Senzaki area, during which a portable shrine and floats with dancers parade through the town every year.

As in the previous year, the festival itself was held only as a Shinto ritual, and the portable shrines and floats with dancers on them were cancelled. However, a dance recital was held at the Senzaki Community Center to give the dancers, who had practiced hard for this day, a stage to shine on.

Although the guests were limited to relatives and related parties, and the event was held in hot weather, all the dancers performed the dances that they had practiced.

I hope that next year we will be able to see the dancers dancing in splendor in the floats.
