As we head into autumn, we would like to introduce Nagato Trip, an experience program to enjoy Nagato, which mainly consists of walking. As the heat gradually eases from now on, please enjoy walking slowly and feel the charm of Nagato.
This is a city tour on the theme of "Misuzu Kaneko," a children's song poet, led by the Nagato Volunteer Guide Association, which has been guiding visitors in Nagato City for many years. They will guide you through the world of Ms. Misuzu's poetry, Misuzu Street, and other places related to Kaneko Misuzu. Please follow in Misuzu's footsteps while listening to the stories of the guides who are full of love for the community. Open all year round (except for the year-end and New Year holidays)
This is a guided walk (lunch and hot spring bath ticket included) of Tawarayama Onsen by members of the Tawarayama Shittorukai. The "Tawarayama Masters," who know Tawarayama Onsen inside and out, will talk about the charms, history, and culture of Tawarayama Onsen in a light-hearted manner. After walking, learning, and laughing, enjoy a lunch of locally produced soba noodles at Tabeyama, a restaurant in the middle of the hot spring resort area. After lunch, you can sweat it out in the hot spring and enjoy the benefits of Tawarayama Onsen, which has been called the "Yokozuna of the West.
This is another town walk by the "Nagato Volunteer Guide Association". In this program, visitors will trace the history of the port town of Senzaki using old maps created by the Choshu clan's cartographer. You can feel a little bit like a time traveler when you think about the townscape and people's lives in the olden days. Period: April to December
The Tong area of Qinghai Island, where the old-style whaling once flourished. The tour will take you on a tour of the remaining whale culture and history, with commentary by a guide. In addition to whale stories, you can also enjoy the unique streetscape of this fishing town. Tour dates: April to November
