Nagato Trip 2021, Autumn" will be held from October to November 2021. We have prepared a variety of programs including a hands-on sightseeing program by local people that allows visitors to fully enjoy the charms of Nagato and the "Autumn in Nagato". We are also incorporating elements of infection control and creating programs tailored to a new style of tourism. We hope you will enjoy the "special experience" that the people of Nagato will bring to you.

This is a special program by Mr. and Mrs. Nakano, a hunter and his wife who run a bakery "Kamitsure" in Tawarayama, Nagato. After the "Exploring the Kemonomichi Trail with a Hunter," we will smoke venison from Tawarayama and make sandwiches with bread and taramo salad, which the wife makes by hand. Enjoy a wonderful café lunch with pickles, soup, gratin, and special coffee, all made with ingredients from Tawarayama.

This is a tour to fully enjoy the Senzaki area, the "hometown of Misuzu". Enjoy a walk around the town, immerse yourself in the world of poetry at the Kaneko Misuzu Memorial Museum, and enjoy a special lunch box with seasonal sashimi prepared by a local fishmonger "Daisho Yondaime". After lunch, enjoy a café. After lunch, enjoy a "Little Bird and Bell" latte, a special drink named after Misuzu's poem, at the "SNOW DRIP COFFEE" cafe.
Liliya-san came from Sochi to build a bridge between Nagato City and Sochi, Russia. She will guide you on a walking tour of Tawarayama Onsen. Tawarayama Onsen, which was discovered about 1,100 years ago, has long flourished as a therapeutic hot spring. In fact, Sochi City also has a therapeutic hot spring called "Mazesta Onsen," which energizes locals and tourists. Let's visit Liliya's recommended spots in Tawarayama while talking about Russian hot spring culture.
The rice from Nagato Tawarayama, nurtured by beautiful mountains and rivers, is glossy and has many fans outside the city. This is an event to enjoy freshly harvested Tawarayama rice. The rice is cooked in a "pompola" (bamboo tube) and eaten as freshly cooked rice balls while enjoying the view of the satoyama. For an appetizer, try pickles made by Tawarayama mothers, and for soup, try "shishi-jiru" (wild boar soup) made from wild boar hunted in Tawarayama. You can enjoy a warm and gentle meal that will delight your Japanese DNA. You can also look forward to a "secret menu" featuring dishes made from what is available on that particular day!
The October 24th event is now full due to the popularity of the event. We are pleased to announce that we will hold another event on November 28 (Sunday).
In this program, visitors can enjoy making original artworks decorated with seashells and acorns from the sea and mountains of Nagato, which will be displayed on driftwood. Let's create autumnal objects using decorations of autumn leaves. Parents, children, friends, and lovers will have a wonderful time together. The organizer is Nozomu Chikugo, an artist from Hioki area who creates "acorn gifts" sold at Senza Kitchen, a roadside station.
Nagato City, where you can enjoy the best yakitori made from freshly-sliced chicken, is becoming more famous every year as the "City of Yakitori". Ejima-chan, a Yakitori-girl (Nagato City Regional Development Cooperation Volunteer in charge of Yakitori), who is fascinated by Nagato Yakitori, will hold an outdoor Yakitori cooking class! The venue is the popular campsite "Senjyoshiki Kogen Campsite". You will learn the secret of Nagato Yakitori's deliciousness and tips on how to cook it in the open grassland with a magnificent view of the Sea of Japan.

We will stroll around Nagato Yumoto hot spring resort town in autumn and enjoy lunch at a new rental space "engawaYUMOTO". After lunch, we will experience Hagi-yaki pottery making by hand. The instructor will be Mr. Zen'emon Sakakura, the owner of Fukagawa Hagiyaki Kiln. After the experience, listen to a story about "Daneiji," a famous place in Nagato Yumoto Onsen, and have tea with bread from a local bakery "Pan Kororin.
This is the "Nagato Yumoto Onsen Otosore Stroll" to view the illumination of autumn leaves at "Daneiji Temple," known as a famous autumn foliage viewing spot. You will listen to a talk on history and culture by the priest of Daneiji Temple, and have a "Shokado bento" for dinner while viewing the autumn leaves. Afterwards, we will take a guided walk from the elegant old approach to the hot spring resort area. Let's enjoy autumn hiking and coffee while taking in the beautiful scenery! Organized by Mr. Nakata, owner of "SNOW DRIP COFFEE" in Senzaki. Let's climb up to the top of Mt. Takayama on Omijima Island and make a cup of delicious coffee under Mr. Nakata's guidance at the top of the mountain. For tea, we will offer sweets from Senzaki's long-established "Toraya" shop. The Tawarayama Shittokai, a local guide group, will lead you on a guided walk of the hot spring resort and Godan-no-taki waterfall, a famous spot for its autumn foliage (lunch and hot spring bath ticket included). The "Tawarayama Masters," who know Tawarayama Onsen inside and out, will talk about the charm, history, and culture of Tawarayama Onsen in a light-hearted manner. Enjoy the contrast between the autumn leaves and the beautiful waterfall at Godan-no-taki (five-step waterfall). After walking, learning, and laughing, enjoy a lunch of locally produced soba noodles at TABEYAMA, a restaurant in the middle of the hot spring resort area. The Renessa Nagato is a prefectural theater where kabuki, kyogen, and bunraku performances are held. For example, there are only three theaters in Japan that have a "funazoko sakuri," a stage mechanism dedicated to bunraku, and "Renessa Nagato" is the only one that has an electrically powered mechanism. In this tour, visitors will experience the operation of such theater mechanisms, sound and lighting. In addition, visitors will be able to take commemorative photos wearing Kabuki costumes on the stage where famous actors have stood. You will see the world-class stage mechanisms from the Edo period, such as the "Mawari-butai," "Sakori," "Hanamichi," and "Supon," as well as behind-the-scenes scenes that you would not normally be able to see. Known for his "Siberian Series," Yasuo Kozuki left a great mark on the postwar Japanese Western-style painting world. He never left his hometown of Misumi, Nagato City, and continued his creative activities under the theme of love for humanity and peace. In the Edo period, the port town of Senzaki prospered as a port of call on the western route of the Kitamae-bune, as well as through the "Setozaki Whale Gang" under the protection of the Hagi Clan. Walking around the town with an old map in hand, you will see the bustle of the port and the way of life that existed with prayers in the past. Poem cards decorating the eaves of houses, flowers and grasses quietly blooming between stone walls, cats napping in narrow alleys... Please also enjoy the scenery of the town that nurtured the gentle gaze of the children's song poet, Misuzu Kaneko.
Tawarayama Onsen is a "therapeutic hot spring loved by feudal lords" with records of successive feudal lords visiting the area. A local guide will take you through the streets of Tawarayama Onsen, which has warmly healed people as an inn along the northern route of the Akamaseki Highway. After walking around the old maps, it is time for lunch. After the map walk, we will have lunch at Ryoufutei restaurant in the hot spring resort area, where you will enjoy a Japanese-style meal prepared with local ingredients. This is the third installment of the popular "Let's Play with Bamboo" series! This time, parents and children can enjoy "making bamboo windmills" using bamboo harvested in Nagato. Organized by "Bamboo Workshop iso-02-. The Bamboo Studio staff, who know all about bamboo, will gently guide you through the process. We also plan to prepare a simple extra experience. The abbot of Nison-in Temple takes the helm of a fishing boat to a spot where you can watch the sunset over the beautiful Aburatani Bay. The gradation of the autumn sunset fills your field of vision and makes you forget the passage of time. At the end of the tour, you will use a Yaku-dama to drive away evil spirits from the boat. Why not refresh your mind and body? (with a gift).
Let's play together in the rich nature of the Mukatugu Peninsula. Even beginners can enjoy this fishing experience. You can fish leisurely in the calm waters of Aburaya Bay, or you can fish at the docks, and both parents and children are welcome to join. There will be a souvenir depending on the size and type of fish. A lunch box of local products is included.

Advance Reservations ]

・Participants are responsible for their own participation in the program. The NagaTrip Office will not be responsible for any trouble, injury, illness, or accident caused by reasons beyond the control of the Office or the program organizers during each program.
Cancellation Policy]
・If you must cancel your participation in a program due to unavoidable circumstances, please be sure to contact the Naga Trip Office. Cancellation on the day of the program or no-show will incur a cancellation fee equivalent to 100% of the participation fee. Please check each program for the cancellation fee before the day before the program.
Cancellation fees must be paid by the method and date specified by the NagaTrip Office. Please note that bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the participant.
Please be aware that staff members may take photos and videos on the day of the program. Photos and videos may be used on the Nagato City tourist website "Nanavi," SNS (official Facebook, Instagram, etc.), future event announcements, and pamphlets. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform the photographing staff at the time of reservation and on the day of the program.
