To be a concierge with "gentleness" that takes root in the community

On February 1 (Sat), the first "Nagato Tourism Concierge" certification ceremony was held at Nagato City Hall.

The 28 people who have been certified have completed a 9-day training course over the summer, fall, and winter to improve their tourism knowledge and hospitality. Their occupations and workplaces vary from inns and stores in Nagato Yumoto Onsen, activity groups in the Tawarayama area, financial institutions, and tourist information centers.

The course, sponsored by the Nagato City Tourism Convention Association, aims to develop human resources with the ability to provide hospitality to tourists, like concierges who serve customers at their request in hotels and department stores.

At the certification ceremony, individual certificates and pins were handed to Ms. Masue Arakawa of "A.side (Nagato Yumoto Onsen)" and Mr. Koji Nakata of "SNOW DRIP (Senzaki)," and a business certification plate was presented to Mr. Mitsunari Kanda, manager of "Yamaguchi Bank Nagato Branch," which had the largest number of six people certified this year.

The certification pin badge features the illustration "Kujeruhokai" by Shingo Ozaki, an illustrator who lives in the city. The design reflects the hope that the concierge will have a "kindness" that takes root in the Dori/Senzaki area.

In addition, Mr. Otani, President of the Association, and Mr. Ehara, Mayor of Nagato City, sent a message saying, "I hope that all of you at the forefront of tourism in Nagato City will continue to play an active role in your respective positions.

We expect that the new tourism concierges will apply the knowledge and skills they have learned so far to hospitality at their respective stores and offices, and will also be active as billboards for the city at tourism PR events, media appearances, and other promotional activities.
