On Saturday, November 23, the cycling event "Nagato Blue Ocean Ride with Akiyoshidai" was held along a course that encompassed Nagato City and Mine City. The winners of the "5th Nagato Photo Cycling," a photo contest held in conjunction with the event, have now been decided.
For this year's contest, entries were solicited via SNS in two categories: "Participant Category" and "General and Support Category. A total of 104 works were submitted during the period, and seven staff members of the Nagato City Tourism & Convention Association judged them.
Reason for selection: This photograph captured the blue sky, the autumnal feeling of the Akiyoshidai Karst Road, and the participants challenging the ascent in a single shot. The creativity in choosing this point of view and composition, as well as the sense of realism in the beautiful photograph, which seems to convey even the clear air, led to its high evaluation.

[Reason for selection] This photo was taken at an aid point at Ohama Beach, with the backs of two people resting while looking out at the ocean. The photographer was highly evaluated for capturing a moment when the cyclists look even more beautiful against the background of the blue ocean, which befits the name of the "Blue Ocean Ride.
