Healed by the aroma of "Kikinaru Nagato Yuzukichi".

Since the Edo period (1603-1867), it has been customary in Japan to take a yuzu bath on the winter solstice. It is said that soaking in the yuzu helps to heal chapped skin by improving the flow of blood, and also relieves sensitivity to cold, neuralgia, and back pain.

On December 21 (Fri.), the day before the winter solstice this year, a footbath using Nagato Yumoto Yuzukichi, the city's aromatic citrus fruit, was opened at the "Otoshiri Footbath" located along the Otoshiri River promenade and "Otoshiri River Park Footbath" in Nagato Yumoto Hot Spring.

In a light rain, 25 kg of berries are placed in a footbath at the Ondonokawa River Park, where steam is dancing in the air.

With the arrival of autumn, "Nagato Yuzukichi," which has turned yellow, has been named "Kininaru Nagato Yuzukichi" this year, meaning "tree, yellow, or curious. The yellow berries that brightly color the footbath are also pleasing to the eye.

Kikinaru Nagato Yuzukichi" comes in a variety of sizes, some of which have lovely leaves on them.

When I held it in my hand, the fresh fragrance danced softly.

On the 22nd, the day after the winter solstice, they were floated in the open-air baths at the Yumen Fureai Center in Misumi and the Kohado Onsen Exchange Center in Hioki. A total of 150 kg of berries donated by farmers in the Tawarayama area decorated the footbaths and hot springs.

The hot springs of Nagato City and "Kikinaru Nagato Yuzukichi" warm you up gently and gradually. We enjoyed the healing space surrounded by steam and fragrance.
