Representatives Otani and Ito: "We will pass on what is important to the future.

On February 14, an open hearing was held at Yumoto Kanko Hotel Saikyo in Nagato City to hear business proposals from applicants for the reconstruction of Onyu, a public bathhouse in Nagato Yumoto Onsen, as well as the facility equipment and operation project.

Nagato Yumori consists of young successors of local inns and restaurant owners, etc. After signing a basic agreement with Nagato City in March, the project will begin in April, with plans to open a new onsoku (hot spring) and restaurant/retail facility in the fall of 2019.

The design of Onyu and the food and beverage facilities will be handled by Oka Shohei and Tamura Design Office, a design firm known for the design and operation of "Fushozan Onsen".

After the screening, Mayor Onishi of Nagato City gave an interview and said, "I am happy that young local people have raised their hands for the Onyu project. It is necessary for the government to support the project".

Yoshiro Hoshino (President of Hoshino Resort), a member of the Nagato Yumoto Onsen Tourism Town Development Plan Promotion Committee, also commented, "We are very grateful for the participation of young successors who understand the good qualities of the region. We are now in a position to aim to be one of the top ten hot spring resorts in Japan.

Upon receiving the results of the screening, representatives Otani and Ito gave interviews to the media and said, "We feel it is our responsibility to pass on to the future what is important to Nagato Yumoto Onsen. We want to properly deliver the historical foundation of Onyu, with its deep connection to Daneiji Temple and Sumiyoshi Shrine, and the value of the hot springs that spring from the bedrock." He expressed his enthusiasm for the project.
