Tawarayama Onsen Town Revitalization Business Plan Contest - Yumachi Busicon 2016 - Open Presentation!
Tawarayama Onsen in Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, is designated as a "national recreational hot spring" as a place for sound health and recreation for the people. Its hot spring resort town has a retro Showa-era atmosphere and has developed as a long-stay hot spring resort, characterized by its therapeutic bathhouse style, where guests wear yukata and go to the outside hot spring baths. However, a decline in the number of guests in recent years has led to a string of ryokan closures, and the aging of the ryokan population has created a serious problem for successors to take over the business. In response to this situation, Nagato City has held a business plan contest to create new businesses by utilizing the vacant ryokans and other facilities scattered throughout Tawarayama Onsen as resources! If you are interested, please feel free to attend.
