Senzaki, Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, is the hometown of the children's song poet "Misuzu Kaneko. In front of the Kaneko-Misuzu Memorial Museum, which has been recreated on the site of her birthplace, there is a street called "Misuzu Street" that runs about 2 km from Senzaki Station. The "Misuzu Tanabata Bamboo Festival" is held every August on this "Misuzu Street". Houses along the street are decorated with handmade bamboo decorations made by local people, creating a more retro and photogenic atmosphere. The "Misuzu Street" is dotted with places where Misuzu Kaneko's poems were set. This time, a collaboration of Misuzu Kaneko's poem and candle artist "N-lighter" was realized at "Gokurakuji Temple," one of the stages. The candlelight night held in the main hall of the temple was a fantastic atmosphere, and many people came to observe the event.
Candle artist "N-lighter
He began making candles by himself using leftover candles. As he repeatedly made, used, used up, and made candles again, he aspired to share with many people the potential of candles to produce no waste at all. The initial letter "N" of "Not" was chosen to express the idea of denying any waste. He aims to produce seasonal colors and lights that blend into the space around Yamaguchi Prefecture. In recent years, he participated in the closing act of WILD BUNCH FEST., the largest outdoor music event in the Chugoku region, as a scenographer, and was in charge of venue decoration for "Wonderful Wedding" by Zexy Chugoku.
